Guard Max Strus is set to make his Los Angeles Clippers debut Monday against the Toronto Raptors after opening the season with a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot.
Strus, 30, was acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a five-team trade in August.
After suffering a left foot fracture in August of last year, Strus did not make his 2025-26 debut with the Cavaliers until March 15. He averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 rebounds over 12 games (five starts).
In seven NBA seasons, the Chicago-area native and DePaul product has averaged 10.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 321 career games (161 starts) for the Chicago Bulls (2019-20), Miami Heat (2020-23) and Cavaliers (2023-26).
Strus’ Clippers debut comes as the team listed forwards Rui Hachimura (quad) and Derrick Jones Jr. (knee) as out for Monday’s game. Bradley Beal (knee), Brandon Ingram (heel), Jordan Miller (shoulder) and Yanic Konan Niederhauser (foot) have yet to make their season debuts for the team.
